Doyle joined the family business as a nine-year-old lad, working in the warehouse on Saturdays and during the summers (there must have been no child labor laws in those days).Doyle graduated from Carson-Newman College in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
In 1975, Mr. Wallace sent Doyle to Memphis, Tennessee where he joined the newly acquired farm equipment division of the Company, King Wallace, Inc.He worked as a salesperson in south Arkansas before moving to Chattanooga in 1977 to join another sister farm equipment company, Southeastern-Wallace, Inc.
Doyle moved back to Morristown in 1984 to become the PRO Program Director at Wallace Hardware.Over the next few years, he worked as a buyer and manager of the Industrial Division.
In the mid 90s, Doyle dealt with medical issues that necessitated a bone marrow transplant. He was away from the company for three years before returning in the late 90s to the Industrial Division.
In 2003, Doyle became the manager of the family’s Holiday Inn Conference Center Hotel.During his tenure, the hotel won numerous awards under his leadership.
When his father passed away on Thanksgiving Day in 2008, Doyle assumed the role of President and CEO of Wallace Hardware.He maintains that role today.
Doyle and his wife, Deanna, have four children and three grandchildren.
William A. (Bill) Trusler began his career with the Wallace companies in 1978 after graduating from Carson-Newman College and serving as an officer in the US Army.He started working in the warehouse as an order picker and then transferred to the farm equipment division of Wallace Hardware, working in all aspects of this division.
Bill and his wife, Lisa, moved to Memphis in 1979 where he worked for a sister company, King-Wallace, Inc., a farm equipment distributor in the Mid-South and Mississippi Delta region of the country.He worked in customer service, inside sales, buying and operations while at King-Wallace.He remained in Memphis until 1983 when he was transferred back to Wallace Hardware.
Joining the buying staff within the hardware division of Wallace Hardware, Bill bought hand and power tools, builder's hardware and lawn and garden products.He also worked with Seven Wheels, another sister company, that provides leasing, trucking and delivery services for Wallace Hardware.
Bill transferred to the financial side of the business in 1994 as the Controller and subsequently made VP-Finance in 1995.He worked with credit and receivables, payables, accounting and other financial areas of the company.In 2008, Bill was named Executive Vice President and CFO.
Richard first met John D. Wallace while selling high school annual ads.He joined the company in 1962 while attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.He worked through their training program for the next four years.
After graduation, Richard served in the Marine Corps and worked as an industrial sales representative upon his return in 1967.He also served as industrial sales supervisor.In 1982, he was appointed assistant sales manager for the hardware division and in January of 1984, Richard was promoted to sales manager of the hardware division. In 1985, he was promoted to Vice President & Sales Manager, Hardware Division and in 2009, he became Senior Vice President of Marketing.
Richard’s responsibilities have included managing the PRO and Farm Mart stores program, store design and merchandising programs, show design, marketing funds management, and working with the sales team on program implementation.Currently, he is heading up the newly revised industrial division of Wallace hardware.2018 marks his 56th year with Wallace Hardware.
Richard serves as lay minister and elder in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.He has served on various Presbytery and Synodical Boards and Agencies.He has two children, Scott and Deanna, and three grandchildren.He and his wife, Denzel, spend their “fun-time” on the farm where they have a cow-calf beef operation.
Eddie Flynn is the Vice President of Sales at Wallace.He joined the company in August of 1982 to take over one-third of an established Industrial territory.Eddie left to pursue other interests in 1987 with another company but returned in 1990 to take over an existing industrial territory and grew it substantially.
In 1996, Eddie was promoted to manage the industrial division and, because of good business and team work, the division grew by great amounts.In 2001, Eddie was moved to assistant sales manager of the hardware division and in 2008, he was promoted to Vice President of Sales.
Eddie really enjoys his job and strives to help Wallace be the best distributor it can be.Because of his competitive personality, he thrives on the challenge of the hard work.The Good Lord has richly blessed Eddie in all his work.
